August 1 & 2 - Portland, ME to S. Freeport, ME (Strout’s Marina)

The marina is small but sufficient and had all that we needed, especially the dinghy guy.  As we were walking in to settle up we saw our dinghy waiting for us…like a little pet, it seemed happy to see us, eagerly started up and stayed running for its happy owners.  I took its leash and untied us and off we went….back home.

As we walked around the corner to lunch i kept seeing these t-shirts that say So Free Me….what the heck?  come to find out it meant South Freeport Maine. 

Around cocktail hour we made our drinks and took the dinghy for a spin around the area before we docked for dinner.  here is a pic of that!!!!!  Remember this was after the work was done. 

Harry claims what went wrong had nothing to do with what was originally wrong.  okay, fine.  I”m sorry to say that when H says, ‘you want to go out in the dinghy and take a look around?’ i always consider what it would take to ROW us back!  

The next day we take a taxi to West Marine, Lowes or Walmart to get whatever was needed to once again fix the dinghy.  Upon our return i walked around the neighborhood that sits up on a hill overlooking the marina and S. Freeport Harbor.  Again, a lovely place.

Walked next door to Harraseeket Lunch and Lobster to order a Lobster dinner take out - Harry’s favorite.  I had a chicken dish that was so disgusting but that’s what i get for ordering chicken at a Lobster House.
